USPAT2 is a companion file to the USPATFULL file. The USPAT2 file contains full text and classifications for the latest publications of U.S. patents and applications issued by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 2001. Patent assignment and reassignment information is available from 2001 - present. The original (first published) U.S. patent and application documents from 1971 - present are available in the USPATFULL file.
Complete Chemical Abstracts indexing for one equivalent U.S. chemical patent may also be included in a record. The file also includes a thesaurus for the USPTO Manual of Classifications and for the current edition (8th) as well as the other editions (1 - 7) of the WIPO manual of the International Patent Classification (IPC) codes.
