To search for words with a variety of endings, use the wildcard character ? or *. You may type either of these characters at the end of a word to append zero or more characters.

For example, enter:

chromatogra?

to retrieve "chromatograph," "chromatography," "chromatographic," "chromatogram," "chromatograms," etc.

There is no difference between the two wildcard characters. The example above could likewise be entered as:

chromatogra*

To search for plurals and abbreviations of words automatically, select the appropriate options in the Preferences.
