List of Answers

A list of answers is displayed in table format on the Answer page. Answers are in one of several forms, depending on the database(s) you searched. For example, answers can be:

• document titles
• chemical names
• molecular formulas
• CAS Registry Numbers

Lists of document titles are displayed by database with the most recent documents first (reverse chronological order). Click Best Match Order to list documents that most closely match your search question first. Click Most Recent Order to return to reverse chronological order.

Lists of other identifiers, e.g., chemical names, can only be displayed in Most Recent Order.

Ten answers are listed by default. The page number for the page currently displayed is shown in boldface type in the page list located below the table of answers.

• To view a different page of answers, click another number in the page list
• To view the page of answers that follows the page that is displayed, click Next. To view the previous page, click Prev.
• When more than 10 pages of answers are available, click Next 10 >> to view the next 10 pages. Click << Prev 10 to return to previous 10 pages.

Access your Preferences to change the default number of answers displayed per page.

Database records for answers may be viewed on the Display page. You may:

• Click an individual answer to view its record. The display cost is shown to the right of the answer.
• Or, view records for several answers at once:

1. Check the box next to one or more answers to select them. You may select answers from multiple sets of answers by moving to additional sets as described above.
2. Click the Display Answers button at the bottom of the page. Records for answers selected on all pages will display.

To remove check marks from all of the answers that you currently have selected, click the Clear button at the top of the list of answers.
