Information Related to CAS RN in Other Categories

An Information related to CAS RN is available in other categories link is provided near the top of most database records for chemical substances. This link moves you to the portion of the record where you can automatically perform a search in categories of databases that contain information about the substance being displayed. In STN International, this type of search is called a "crossover" search.

Click a category name link to search for your substance in databases in that category. The search fee is displayed next to the link. A list of answers is displayed on the Answer page.

In the Chemistry References category, a scrollable list of roles is displayed.  These roles represent broadly defined subject areas and allow you to pinpoint the significance of your chemical substance in a document. Select one or more roles of interest to search for that type of document in the CAplus and CAOLD databases. For example, select Preparation to retrieve documents that focus on the preparation of the substance.  Or, select Reactant to find answers where your substance is a reactant.  You may select multiple roles by holding down the Control key (Command key on Macintosh). Click the Chemical References link to obtain the focused list of answers.
